About

Why this exists

Eastside Record Club started with a simple itch. I love music enough to want to talk about it with people who feel the same way, whether that means getting a little emotional over one bridge in a song, or picking apart a mix decision most people would never notice.

Somewhere between throwing on a record and actually talking about it afterward, there is a conversation that does not happen enough. That is the gap this fills.

This is not about having the nicest turntable in the room. It is about carving out one evening a month to actually pay attention, together.

Come for the record. Stay for the argument about the bridge.

Everyone is welcome regardless of what you know going in. There is no reading list, no gear requirement, and no wrong opinion about a song. Just show up, listen, and see what you think.

How albums get picked

Each month, a different member picks the record, digs into its backstory, and leads the conversation after. No pressure to go first. Come a few times, get a feel for it, then throw your hat in whenever you are ready.

The gear is solid. Not the point.

Phones face down

The record gets forty minutes of your attention. Your notifications will survive.

No wrong opinions

Hating a beloved classic is allowed. Being boring about it is not.

The record finishes

Both sides, all the way through. Even the weird track. Especially the weird track.
